RIO DE JANEIRO (AFP) - Much like football, played on beaches with passion and flamboyance, the Brazilian bikini captures the essence of the country, with its colourful designs, cheeky cut and undoubtedly sexy style. The best of Brazil's bikinis and swimwear was on display this week at the summer edition of Fashion Rio, attracting a growing number of foreign clients.

From micro, string mini to maxi and pieces that can be worn day or night, there was enough to satisfy all tastes. "There are changes in the model to cater to the foreign market, which finds the Brazilian bikini small," said Mr Thomaz Azulay, creative director of Blue Man, a popular Brazilian brand founded in the 1970s. A DANISH television program is causing outrage over its use of naked women parading in front of men who judge their bodies. Blachman, which screens on prime time Danish state television, features a series of silent women who walk in to a darkened studio and



slip out of their bathrobes in front of the eponymous host and a guest, British media report. The men, seated on a couch several metres from the women who are shown in the spotlight, then run their eyes over the nude guests and judge the women on their bodies. Critics have blasted Blachman, hosted by Thomas Blachman, over its sexist humiliation of women. But Blachman, a jazz musician who was also a judge on the Danish version of X-factor, and who claims to have created the concept, says he is a “genius”.

The bald presenter said the aim was to “stir discussion about the aesthetics of the female body without allowing the conversation to become pornographic or politically correct”. “The female body thirsts for words. The words of a man. And they went for it.”

Even before the show, on Denmark’s public service DR2 channel, aired, it stirred vigorous debate on social media and in newspapers. While some are upset by the silence of the women, others have, found it empowering to see normal women at the centre of the media’s focus rather than, impossible to live up to ideals, Copenhagen Voice reported. DR producer, Sofia Fromberg, believes the show must go on and does not think that the TV critics should have the final say about what is good for men and women. She commented: “Here we have a program that reveals what men think about the female body. Quite honestly, what is wrong with that?” The row comes after Australian newspaper columnist Geoffrey Barker caused uproar when he attacked young female reporters and newsreaders as being all big hair and hot air, all smile without substance.

"I weigh 135, I've gained weight!" she posted as a caption. "I need to be 100 lbs!"

 

Bynes, 26, appears in nothing more than a lacy bra and black leggings. With her already svelte figure proudly on display, Bynes has since been retweeting any outlet sharing the photos and labeling it "hot!"In February, weighing 121 pounds, the "Easy A" actress told Us Weekly that her goal is to get down to 100 pounds. In the preceding weeks, Bynes, 27, had been spotted wandering strangely around New York City, shaving half her head, tweeting obscene things about her affection for musician Drake, posting videos of herself mumbling in front of the mirror.Bynes' behavior reportedly has the children in her apartment building scared, too.

And while some of her actions are reminiscent of a 2007 Britney Spears, whose very public meltdown culminated in her shaving her own head and later led to -- and still requires -- a legal conservatorship, one court expert told FOX411's Pop Tarts column earlier this week that  there is nothing like that in the works for Bynes. "There are two




main standards that courts look at as far as conservatorships. The first is the person a danger to themselves  -- Spears was and demonstrated that often -- and the second is whether the person a danger to society. Britney Spears was, and to her two children as well," legal consultant and alternative sentencing expert Wendy Feldman. "Amanda seems to have a serious mental illness, but that does not meet the standard in court. There is no record of suicide attempts or drug overdoses." At least for now.
